Sedation


                         Oral concious sedation is available, to relieve anxiety and enhance your comfort. Short acting medication relaxes you and makes treatment easier for you and the doctor. This is a great idea for major dental work such as smile makeovers and reconstructions. It also is very nice if you have dental treatment anxiety. Our staff and doctors are trained in the safe handling of sedative medications and emergency procedures.  However, since relaxation is achieved with sedation, there is less risk for emergencies. This is because the blood pressure doesn't get raised due to anxiety or discomfort. For your safety, please have a responsible adult available to take you home after your treatment. Sedation involves the use of valium type medicines that could impair driving. Dr Pittaway also has an Automatic Electronic Defibrillator, (AED) in the office for the rare life saving emergencies that may require CPR.
